In every Jewish wedding ceremony, this verse is said to symbolically reminds the groom and all of the wedding guests that they are not to allow their own rejoicing to be “greater” than the ongoing need to recall Jerusalem’s destruction.
אִם אֶשְׁכָּחֵךְ יְרוּשָׁלַיִם תִּשְׁכַּח יְמִינִי
תִּדְבַּק לְשׁוֹנִי לְחִכִּי אִם לֹא אֶזְכְּרֵכִי
אִם לֹא אַעֲלֶה אֶת יְרוּשָׁלַיִם עַל רֹאשׁ שִׂמְחָתִי
