Jesus written in Aramaic disk pendant
$92.00 $80.96
This very unique pendant engraved with the language spoken by Jesus Christ himself .
The Pendant is made of sterling silver and original Jerusalem stone curved from the mountains of Jerusalem.
It is generally agreed that Jesus and his disciples primarily spoke Aramaic, most likely a Galilean dialect clearly distinguishable from that of Jerusalem.
The towns of Nazareth and Capernaum in Galilee, where Jesus spent most of his time, were Aramaic-speaking communities.
Yeshua (ישוע, with vowel pointing יֵשׁוּעַ – yēšūă’ in Hebrew) was a common alternative form of the name יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (“Yehoshua” – Joshua) in later books of the Hebrew Bible and among Jews of the Second Temple period. The name corresponds to the Greek spelling Iesous, from which, through the Latin Iesus, comes the English spelling Jesus.
Yeshua in Hebrew is a verbal derivative from “to rescue”, “to deliver”.
Among the Jews of the Second Temple Period, the Biblical Aramaic/Hebrew name יֵשׁוּעַ Yeshua’ was common: the Hebrew Bible mentions several individuals with this name – while also using their full name Joshua.
